One Inch is all it takes
I’m an inch away from you and I can’t seem to bear the distance. That one inch feels like an ocean’s length. That one inch feels like a long drive. That one inch is five million stop lights along the way. That one inch is all of those stupid commercials that like to avoid your favorite television show. That one inch is a thunderstorm that won’t pass and your waiting to get in the pool, but your parents won’t let you. That one inch is finding out if you’ve won. Or lost. That one inch is waiting to hear the shot of the gun to start of the race. That one inch is the seconds in a tied up baseball game. That one inch is you being on the edge of your theater seat throughout the whole movie. That one inch has power within it’s distance; a power that grows until it explodes, sending the two entities colliding into a beautiful embrace. That’s how I feel when I’m this close to you. Imagine how I feel when we’re so far apart.
